Doha: Al Wakrah are looking to maintain their fine momentum as they face Qatar SC in their QNB Stars League (QSL) clash at the Al Janoub Stadium, tomorrow.

The Blue Waves, who finished third the last season, are on second with seven points behind leaders Al Arabi after three rounds.

Al Wakrah coach Marquez Lopez was happy with team’s strong start but said consistency is the key for his side.

Speaking at a press conference yesterday, he termed Qatar SC a strong side.

“I have seen Qatar SC in the first three matches and I think the team is physically strong and well organised,” Lopez said.

“The most important thing is they are performing well on the field so I think the match will be difficult for us. We got good time to prepare for the match as the break was more than we got before our previous matches,” he added.

The coach said the positive approach of the team is behind good performance in the first three matches.

“The reason behind our strong start is that the players are performing well and they are going into the matches with a positive approach, which is very good."

Al Wakrah’s Trent Sainsbury said the team was ready for the match, eyeing a victory against Qatar SC.

“Every week we train as usual to get the three points and yes we had more time to train this week and this makes us more prepared to get the three points,” the Australian said.

He added: “Adapting to my new team was not easy, of course, and I can say that I still did not memorize all the names. In the first match, I was not 100% sure of it. I am still adapting and I need time for that.”

Meanwhile, Qatar SC coach Youssef Safri said his team needs to put up a quality performance against Al Wakrah in tomorrow's match.

“Al Wakrah are in outstanding form. It is very important for us to give a quality performance to achieve good result and I have great confidence in the players,” he said.

Qatar SC are on ninth place  with four points from their first three games.
