Doha: Alfardan Automobiles announced a 31 percent increase in sales during the first quarter of 2013 for BMW and MINI, compared to the same period in 2012.

Alfardan Automobiles, the official importer of BMW Group in Qatar, is one of the top five performing markets in the Middle East in terms of sales growth. This success reaffirms the strength and confidence in the BMW and MINI brands and after-sales service satisfaction leading to the continued rise in demand for BMW Group cars in Qatar.

Contributing to Alfardan Automobiles’ solid performance was the BMW X6 Sports Activity Coupe and the flagship BMW 7 Series, both achieving double digit increases (85 percent and 35 percent respectively) over the same period in 2012. The BMW X6 defined a new market segment when it was launched in 2008, and has since been developing following the arrival of the new generation model last year. With a number of exterior enhancements, the athletic appearance and appeal of BMW’s original Sports Activity Coupé increases substantially, the BMW X6 continues to lead in its segment. Offering new levels of luxury, comfort and power, the new and refined BMW 7 Series model went on sale in Qatar in the second half of 2012 and is the leading luxury sedan in the region. Both models have been a strong driving force behind the company’s impressive first quarter results 2013.

Another top performing BMW model was the BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle with a 20 percent growth in sales.

Recognised as the fastest growing premium brand in the world and as well in the Middle East, MINI continues to be popular amongst audiences in Qatar. Sales during the first three months of 2013 were led by the MINI Hatch while the MINI Countryman and MINI Roadster were also strong contributors. Alfardan Automobiles recently welcomed the seventh member of the MINI family – the all new MINI Paceman, the world’s first Sports Activity Coupe – which made its regional debut at the 2013 Qatar Motor Show earlier this year, adding a new successful chapter to the MINI brand. With its active and dynamic elements and smooth design, it is without doubt another popular addition to the MINI Model Line-up.

Commenting on the company’s exceptional performance,  Mohammed Kandeel (pictured), General Manager, Alfardan Automobiles, said: “We have had a fruitful first three months, a highlight of which was the Middle Eastern launch of the seventh MINI family member, the All-new MINI Paceman, as well as the introduction of the Pearl Series from BMW Individual for the BMW 7 Series and BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe, which all were introduced during the Qatar Motorshow. The increased levels of customer satisfaction and confidence in Alfardan Automobiles, is evident from our impressive first quarter results, to ensure building on this success for the remainder of the year, we will continue to strive towards providing the latest models, and highest levels of service to our discerning clientele.”
