Man gets 3-year jail term over QR1.7 million fake cheque

Doha: The Misdemeanor Court sentenced a man for three years in jail for dishonouring a cheque worth QR1,767,000. 

According to the facts of the case, the Public Prosecution referred a man to the court on charges of issuing a cheque without adequate balance in his account. The man was accused of giving the cheque in bad intention since he was aware of his existing balance and yet issued the cheque.

The Court was convinced since it bears a signature attributing to the defendant, and on the due date it has not been disbursed in accordance with the Bank's data.
