Darb Al Saai

As the Qatar National Day celebrations come to a conclusion, today is your last chance to visit the prime venue for QND celebrations Darb Al Saai before it closes.

Qatar Foundation, Al Shaqab, Qatar Bio Bank, WCMQ, HBKU have all set up their tent with many activities for the kids and adults.

A must visit is the Police College tent, where the Worlds Largest Football that set a Guinness World Record is placed.  

There are many more activities and stalls set-up by various government departments.

Entertainment World Village

You will be able to experience the latest international thrill rides brought from Europe to entertain both kids and adults, including Drop Tower, Roller Coaster, G-Force and a Giant Ferris Wheel to name a few, in addition to various activities areas and zones such as Paintball arena, Dinosaur Park and Circus tent with acts and performances performed by world’s most famous artists.

Additionally, the Entertainment World Village will host the largest shopping exhibition in Qatar, with variety of retail shops from 25 different countries showcased in 11 themed pavilions, offering a wide array of choices of fashion, beauty, jewellery, souvenirs, perfumes, carpets, home accessories, consumables and many more.

Entertainment World Village will have many stage shows in addition to the roaming acts, skill games and other recreational activities such as doughnut boats where food is served in the sea.

Visitors can also enjoy various culinary offerings from food and beverages booths ranging from cafes, fast food eateries and casual dining outlets.

The Entertainment World Village is located at Al Qutaifiya beach, between the Diplomatic Club and The Pearl-Qatar.

Russian avant-garde art show

A rich and diverse collection of works by pioneers and descendants of Russian avant-garde art is on show at the Fire Station marking the conclusion of the highly successful Qatar Russia 2018 Year of Culture.

Organized in collaboration with world-renowned State Tretyakov Gallery, the exhibition, features 81 works by 24 of the most influential and significant figures in the history of Russian art.

Divided into eight sections, the exhibition offers art connoisseurs and enthusiasts inspiring journey into two waves of Russian art – one representing works by pioneering artists of 1910s to 1920s and the other by ‘underground’ artists of mid-20th century or the direct descendants.

One of the remarkable pieces on display is a 1919 installation by Vladimir Tatlin in the form of a model of a tower resembling a huge functioning machine with structures designed to rotate at a specific time.

Qatar History Expo

A collection of historical photos, artefacts and documents from the private collections of several Qatari families will be showcased at a Qatar National Library exhibition till January 31, 2019.

Entitled ‘Qatar Through Private Collections,’ the exhibition represents a collective memory of the nation’s past, and celebrates its traditional way of life.

The previously unseen private collections bring to life the contributions that local people have made in preserving Qatar’s identity, history and heritage.

The exhibition is a part of the Library’s month-long celebration of Qatar National Day.

Adventure Time Activity Zone

Themed as the ‘Land of Ooo’ Adventure Time Activity Zone at Doha Festival City will feature many activities for kids aged between 4 and 12 years old.

The activities will include arts & crafts, a maze, mini golf and screenings of the popular episodes. Children will also get an opportunity to try the Adventure Time: Magic Man’s Head VR game.

Kids can also build their own iceberg in Ice King’s Ice Kingdom by adding pieces onto a free-standing iceberg background.
