Tokyo: Tokyo stocks ended lower Monday, weighed down by a higher yen with Toshiba plunging after the embattled Japanese conglomerate announced plans to issue new shares.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.60 percent, or 135.04 points, to 22,261.76, while the broader Topix closed down 0.23 percent, or 4.11 points, at 1,759.65.
