Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara, in cooperation with the Embassy of Yemen to Qatar and Qatar Museums, is organising a “Yemeni Day” event at the Drama Theatre, Building 18 at the Cultural Village.
The two-day event started yesterday. The first day was dedicated to the attendance of VIPs, where a group of people in different fields were honoured. A folkloric concert presenting the authentic Yemeni heritage was also held.
Today, the event will be open to the public where a folkloric concert will be conducted from 7.30pm to 10pm.
This event comes within the activities of the Qatar - Middle East - North Africa - South Asia Cultural Year, which aims to promote cultural exchange through a series of various events, exhibitions and activities.
Katara Cultural Village has organised on other occasions a number of art exhibitions that shed light on Yemeni heritage and culture, including what was presented by Qatari artist Moudhi Al Hajri through the exhibitions “Yemen is a love that captivates you” and “My Travels in the Country of Yemen.”
