Some parts of Qatar receive rain; MET warns of ‘strong dust-raising wind’

As predicted by the weather bureau, rain has been reported from some parts of Qatar in the afternoon. Qatar Meteorology Department said in a tweet that “sporadic rains continue to be detected in the west of the country, with thunderstorms accompanied by strong, sometimes dusty winds in some areas.”

QMD posted a video showing rain at Umm Bab area. 

 

“Latest satellite image shows local convective cloud development over central and western areas with a chance of scattered thundershowers in coming hours may be accompanied with strong dust-raising wind. Please be careful,” they further said.

“Please take extra as thunderstorms continue to be observed in southwestern areas accompanied with strong dust-raising wind at times,” QMD urged people while posting safety tips during thinderstorms.
