Doha: Numerical forecast maps indicate that local clouds will form in the southwest of the country in the afternoon, with a chance of sporadic thunderstorms that may be accompanied by dusty high-speed winds, Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) said in its daily weather report.
“Generally hot weather across the country and sea state continues to be slight. Local cloud development expected in Southwestern areas during afternoon with a chance of scattered thundershowers may be accompanied by strong dust-raising wind,” QMD said on social media.
Relative humidity is expected to increase from tonight until weekend due to a shift in prevailing wind direction to easterly with a chance of misty to foggy conditions in some areas at late night and early morning causing visibility to drop below 2 km at times.
Temperature is expected to drop with maximums ranging between 37 to 39°in Doha, Qatar Meteorology Department urged all to be cautious during foggy conditions.
Offshore, it will be misty and partly cloudy at times, becoming fine later, report added.
Wind inshore will be variable less than 05 knot at first, becoming mainly northeasterly to easterly 06 to 16 knot, reaching to 35 knot with thundery rain.
Offshore, it will be mainly northeasterly to 05 to 15 knot, becoming southwesterly by night.
Visibility will be 4 to 8/2 kilometers or less at places with thundery rain.
Sea state inshore will be 1 to 2 feet. Offshore, it will be 1 to 3 feet.
