Khalil Al Mohannadi
Doha: Khalil Al Mohannadi, President of the Qatari, Arab and Asian Table Tennis Federations and First Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), has officially announced his candidacy for ITTF’s presidency.
The election, set for May, marks a historic moment as Al Mohannadi becomes the first Qatari to contest for the sport’s top global post.
The Qatari official will go head-to-head with Sweden’s Petra Sörling, the incumbent president, who is seeking re-election after securing the position in December 2021 at the General Assembly in Houston, USA.
The ITTF General Assembly, comprising 222 member nations, will vote for its new leader during the 2025 World Championships, scheduled to take place in Doha from May 18 to 25.
