Activities will continue today and tomorrow

As the National Day festivities were suspended for yesterday evening at Darb Al Saai to allow people to attend the Qatar National Day festivities at Corniche, many families were keen to visit the venue in the morning with their children to let them enjoy the activities.

The activities at Darb Al Saai will continue today and tomorrow during morning and evening hours.

Among the prominent activities which people visited at Darb Al Saai and attracted children were the activities like riding camels, and horses. Also families keened to visit pavilion which educate children and give them brief about Qatari environment, which includes various types of trees, birds and animals.

“We came to Darb Al Saai early with our children to celebrate the National Day activities. Darb Al Saai is a place where children can enjoy with many different activities. Children get training about military through the pavilions of Ministry of Defence and Police College. Also they take a tour and see the glimpse of the Qatari culture and environment and they always feel happy to see all these activities at one place,” said Taheer Mohamed a visitor.

‘We don’t want to stay at home at this important day, we want to celebrate the National Day morning at Darb Al Saai and evening at Corniche and Katara. The preparations this year reflect loyalty and unity,” said a citizen Mubarak.

Regarding the Darb Al Saai activities, he said: “I want to say what HE Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali, Head of the National Day organizing committee said about the activities earlier that “through it we want to embody the vision of Qatar National Day through activities and celebration and we choose only activities which can impact and give people the real feel of patriotism, loyalty, unity, and solidarity.”

The Ministry of Defence received a large of visitors and were briefed about the military vehicles which displayed at the pavilion which is around 20 vehicles and some of it were modified by Qatar. The ministry’s pavilion includes ground forces, air forces, and marine forces “I like the Ministry of Defence pavilion because I want to know about the capacity they have and to get more information about military vehicles which they are displaying and their uses, in addition of how to use guns. Also children enjoyed to take souvenir photos with the vehicles,” said a citizen Abdul Rahaman.

With the theme ‘Promise of Prosperity and Glory’, Qatar celebrated the National Day yesterday and The motto of the Qatar National Day this year is inspired by a quote of the Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
