Over 24,000 new RPs issued in October

As many as 24,025 new Residency Permits were issued in October 2016, which is a 28.1 percent increase compared to September 2016 when 18,760 new RPs were issued.

Also, 97,294 RPs were renewed in October 2016 while the number of renewed RPs for September 2016 was 66,651, showing an increase of 46 percent. These figures were revealed in the 34th edition of Qatar Monthly Statistics released by the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics.

According to official statistics, 13,320 people benefited from the Social Security in October 2016 while the number of beneficiaries for September 2016 was 13,552. The report reveals that camping requests have witnessed a huge 11,850 percent increase from 12 camping requests in September 2016 to 1,434 requests in October 2016.

As many as 591 traffic accidents occurred in October 2016 and this is a 13.9 percent surge compared to September 2016 in which the number of accidents was 519. The majority of traffic accidents (107) happened in Madinat Khalifa in October 2016. The report further reveals that there were 19 deaths due to traffic accidents in October 2016 while 14 people had died in September 2016.

It further reveals that the number of minor accidents soared from 408 in September 2016 to 497 in October 2016 while the number of major accidents also saw an upward trend from 57 in September 2016 to 75 in October 2016.

Out of 19 deaths due to traffic accidents in October 2016, a majority (four people) died in Al Rayyan following three deaths each in Al Mamoura, South and Dukhan municipalities.

Most of the major accidents happened in October 2016 in South and Al Rayyan with 17 and 12 major accidents in these two areas respectively. While in September 2016, most of the major traffic accidents (12) had occurred in Al Mamoura.

As many as 539 properties were sold in October 2016 which is a 136.4 percent increase compared to September 2016 in which the total number of sold properties was 228. It is a 26.5 percent increase when October 2016 is compared with October 2015 in which 426 properties were sold.
