The weekend is here and many wonderful events are happening in Qatar. Here is a list of few you could attend.

Egg Exhibition opens at Katara

Artist Um Abdullah Al Khulaifi has turned eggs into beautiful works of art showcased at the Dazzling Egg Exhibition which opened recently at Katara Cultural Village.

The exhibition features different types of eggs embellished using a variety of mediums and styles the artist has mastered in her years of experience honing her skill in the craft.

FBQ Museum to host ‘Peter and The Wolf’ show

FBQ  will be hosting a narrated musical performance of “Peter and The Wolf” on April 21.

“Peter and The Wolf” is the story of a young boy who manages to capture a malicious wolf.

Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra will present famous Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev for woodwind quintet, violin and percussion.

The piece was written and composed by Prokofiev to introduce children to the instruments of the orchestra, every character being represented by one instrument.

Those interested to watch the show are encouraged to come ahead of time as the event will be on a first come first served basis.

Museum entrance fee is QR20 per adult.

Entry for children is free.

DFI Presents Planet Earth II: Islands and Mountains

To celebrate Earth Day 2018, Cinema Under the Stars has collaborated with Aspire to screen of ‘Planet Earth II: Islands and Mountains’.

The synopsis of the second edition of the critically acclaimed wildlife documentary series with David Attenborough (narrator) begins with a look at the remote islands which offer sanctuary to some of the planet's rarest creatures.

Souq Waqif Spring Festival

The Spring Festival, organised by Private Engineering Office, will be hosted in Souq Waqif. The event will include performances by pedestrians, a group of artists and clowns from different countries, as well as acrobatic performances.The festival will provide surprises to the public from time to time.

Nasta'liq beginners for Women

Museum of Islamic Art is conducting a beginners calligraphy session for women.

Nasta'liq  is a script which was used and developed in Iran (where it was called Naskh Tal'eq) and the Ottoman states (as Tal'iq). It was invented by Mir Ali  Al-Tabreezi in the 15 century, and it is characterized by its beauty, the accuracy of length of its letters and its clarity.

This 4-session course will suit those who have already done one of our Beginners Ruq'ah courses.

Sri Lankan community cricket tournament

‘Ceylonians Mega Bash – Season 3,’ a Sri Lankan community cricket tournament will begin tomorrow (20) at Asian Town Cricket Stadium in Doha.

The tournament will continue for three consecutive Fridays and conclude on May 4.
