DOHA: Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) felicitated those winners (individual and corporate) who were selected under various categories against the entries received for four competitions which were organized by Kahramaa’s Conservation and Energy Efficiency department.
The winners were hounored at the sixth anniversary of the ongoing National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) of Kahramaa held yesterday at QNCC.
Conserving Building Competition from Governmental Sector was won by The Ashghal Asset Affairs Building - Abu Hamour.
Conserving Building Competition from Organizational Sector was won by Musheireb Properties -National Archive Building. Conserving Building Competition from Industrial Sector was won by Al Manhal Water Plant - New Industrial Area Doha.
Eng Abdullah Mohsen Al-Wahed’s House - South Duhail received Conserving Building Competition under Residential Sector competition. The Holiday Inn - Airport Street Doha won Conserving Building Competition in Tourism Sector.
Conserving Building Competition from Sport Sector was won by The Duhail Sports Club – Duhail. Best Green Sustainable Initiative Individual Category was won by Sarah Al-Mutawaa. Best Green Sustainable Initiative Academic Category was won by Hamad Bin Khalifa University. The Green Wall Factory won the Best Sustainable Local Product competition.
Best Film on Sustainability, First Place: for the Recycling film was secured by Muhsen Ashour and Majid Hadid. Second Place: for the Waste Less film; secured by Snezana Jovanovic, Nenad Gavran and Oussama Ait El Qadi. Third Place: for the Sustainability in Qatar Film was secured by Hussein Mohammed Ali and Ahmed Rawani. Jaber Al Merri, Managing Editor of Al Arab newspaper was felicitated as best communication engagement with Tarsheed for supporting Tarsheed initiatives on social media platforms specially with be partner in Tarsheed initiatives.
Kahramaa also honoured partners and sponsors for their support of Tarsheed initiatives. Students of Qatar Technical High School for Boys, Lebib Primary school for girls, Umm Aymen High school for girls, and Al-Wakrah high school for girls were also honoured for their solar energy projects under the Tarsheed supervision. The ceremony witnessed the honour of Ministry of Transport and Communications Best Government Entity Cooperating With Tarsheed 2017.
