Qatar players celebrate a goal against Kyrgyzstan yesterday.
Doha, Qatar: Shenzhen: Qatar closed their AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2025 campaign with a 4-0 win over Kyrgyzstan at the Shenzhen Youth Football Training Base Centre Stadium yesterday.
Goals from Tahsin Jamshid, Moath Taha, Mohamed Gouda and Noureldin Ibrahim saw Qatar finish third in Group A with three points whileKyrgyzstan left the tournament empty handed.
Qatar had the first attempt at goal in the seventh minute, Mohamed Hani Faragalla receiving a through ball from Gouda on the left and forcing a diving save from keeper Aziret Ysmanaliev.
The 2014 champions had another go in the 25th minute when Gouda inched down the left and struck from an acute angle but his effort was easily saved.
Qatar’s attacks paid off three minutes later when Jamshid made his way from the right, evaded two defenders and tucked the ball past an onrushing Ysmanaliev.
The goal galvanised Qatar, with Jamshid proving a constant threat to the Kyrgyzstan defence with his runs down the right.
The Central Asian side’s challenge became tougher when captain Atai Eshenkulov was flashed the red card five minutes into injury time for bringing down Faragalla.
Taha scored Qatar’s second from Bassam Adel Eid’s ensuing free-kick when he pounced on the ball deflecting off the wall to slide it past Ysmanaliev.
Qatar’s third came in the 55th minute when Gouda latched onto a pass from Taha, dashed into the box from the left and calmly put the ball away.
The West Asians claimed their final goal in the 83rd minute, when a brilliant through ball from Taha in his own half found an unmarked Noureldin Ibrahim on the left, who sprinted the length of the Kyrgyzstan half to strike home past a rooted Ysmanaliev.
