DOHA: H H The Emir 24th International Equestrian Sword Festival starts today which will take place at the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC), under the patronage of H H The Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, kicks off today.
The seven-day racing carnival is ready to enthral Qatari and international audience at QREC and on television with the live telecast of the Festival’s events reaching many homes.
Over the years, the HH The Emir International Equestrian Sword Festival has grown to be one of the most exciting events in the Middle East region.
It promises to be yet another event that will showcase the capabilities of QREC on the world stage.
QREC Chairman HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Faleh Al Thani said: “QREC has played a significant role in promoting a first class professional horseracing and equestrian culture in Qatar and has staged unparalleled events which saw the attendance of scores of highly recognised equestrian personalities from across the globe.”
He added: “There is no doubt that our sponsorship partnerships in the country will be key to maintaining the success of this esteemed event particularly when NBK has been considered QREC’s sports partner for years.”

Entry to the venue is free of charge, QREC officials said.
