Finland’s Satu claims trap gold

Doha: Three-time world champion and 2008 Olympic Games winner Satu Makela-Nummela of Finland extended her domination of the Trap event at the Qatar Open Shotgun by winning yet another gold medal at the Losail shooting Range.
Yesterday Makela-Nummela defeated Tonga’s Anna Shedrina 12-9 to win the crown for the third time in four years.
“I love coming here as this place is very lucky for me. I always do well here,” said Makela-Nummela.
Twice Olympic Games silver medallist Zuzana Rehak Stefecekova outshot Mirya Dmitriyenko to bag the bronze medal. In the junior category, Qatar’s  Meitha Al Binali won the bronze, while Aizhan Dosmagambetova  and Sarsenkul Rysbekova, won gold and silver respectively. THE PENINSULA
