Olive International School (OIS) participated in the Skipping Rope Competition organised by Indian Sports Centre on June 15 at Ashoka Hall in the Indian Cultural Centre.
The competition, for both boys and girls, was held under different Age category - U-12 Boys, Girls and U-18 Boys, Girls. Two events - Speed Hop and Speed Endurance were held for each age category. For parents and teachers, there was only one category Speed Endurance.
A total of 36 students participated across every category from all three OIS campuses and won 7 trophies.
In Speed Endurance category, Firoj Khan (1st) won in U-18 boys and Olivia Mariam (3rd) won in U-12 girls, while in Speed Hop, Firoj Khan (2nd) and Dwaraknath D (3rd) won in U-18 boys; Ramakrishna (3rd) in U-12 boys and Anushka Jadhav (3rd) won in U-12 girls.
In the teacher’s category, Neha won second place in Speed Endurance event.
Overall, it was a great experience for the OIS team and students who got a wonderful platform to display their skills and sportsman spirit. It was a learning experience for the participants to explore Skipping as a game wherein they can learn to be accountable for their actions.
