Doha: Northwesterly wind conditions (locally known as Bawarih) is expected to continue until weekend, tweeted Qatar Meteorology Department on its social media.
The northwesterly wind is usually associated with low visibility reaching 2km or less at times due to blowing dust and sand.
The department further added that wind speeds is expected to lessen by Friday evening, June 21, with a relative drop in temperature as maximum is expected to range between late thirties to early forties across the country.
The department in an earlier alert had warned of fresh to strong wind over most areas of the country, that will reach its peak on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
For the current hot weather condition, the Civil Aviation Authority issued a few safety precautions:
1. Try to avoid outdoor activities and direct sunlight.
2. Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing to reflect sunlight.
3. Drink plenty of fluids
4. Don't leave children unattended in a vehicle
5. Outdoor workers should take rest breaks in the shade.
