Qatar, along with the GCC region, is leading in 5G deployment and Huawei is committed to support 5G development in the country and the region. Having created over 1000 jobs and groomed over 2500 ICT talents in the past three year, the company has set a target to cultivate over 10,000 ICT talents in the next three years, said a senior official of Huawei.
“We are in Qatar, and for Qatar. For the past three years, we have created over 1000 jobs, cultivated over 2500 ICT talents, and growing up with over 300 local partners,” said Charles Yang (pictured), Senior Vice President at Huawei Technologies, and President of Huawei Middle East, while addressing reporters in a virtual media round table, held yesterday. “In the next three years, we aim to cultivate over 10,000 ICT talents, empowering Qatar’s future development and national strategy,” he said.
He said that Huawei has partnered with local education institutions to train the students.
“Currently, Qatar is at the most important sprint stage before the World Cup. Huawei 5G will help to reshape FIFA World Cup 2022 to be the most amazing experience in sporting history. Key event security protection and infrastructure investment and construction are the highest priority,” he added.
He said, in the post pandemic era, Qatar government and enterprises are all actively pushing for industrial digitalization, upgrading smart system and solutions to enhance the level of city governance and public services.
“Huawei looks to new opportunity to support industry digitization in Qatar and the region with an emphasis on 5G, talent development, and tackling cybersecurity challenges. To achieve the Qatar National Vision 2030, Qatar has treated Artificial Intelligence Development as one of the national strategies, aiming to make Qatar as the regional data hub,” he added.
Huawei, at the Milipol 2021, showcased the City Intelligent Twins Structure Solution for the first time in the Middle East Region, together with other latest technologies, in the fields of Cloud, AI, Computing and connectivity.
The City Intelligent Twins is a smart platform designed for city governments by Huawei, clients and partners. It’s based on the cloud, and centered at AI, and supports full-scenario collaboration, full-system collaboration and continuous evolution.
He said, Last year, Huawei ranked 49 in the global fortune 500. In the latest BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Brands study, Huawei is ranked 45th. This achievement happened because of Huawei ‘customer-centric’ culture, dedication to innovation, and customer trust, he added.
