All forms of energy critical to Qatar’s growth, says official

DOHA: ExxonMobil has emphasised that all forms of energy will be critical to economic growth, development, and social welfare of Qatar. 
Sharing ExxonMobil’s views on long-term energy trends, Roland Moreau, Safety, Security, Health and Environment Manager for ExxonMobil’s Upstream Research Company in Houston, Texas presented the company’s Outlook for Energy: A View to 2040 to more than 100 members of Qatar’s Society of Petroleum Engineers in Doha this week. Highlighting changes in global demand, which is expected to increase by approximately 35 percent in 2040, Moreau said that demand will be met by various energy sources. Oil will continue to be the most widely used fuel, but natural gas — the fastest growing major fuel — is expected to overtake coal by 2025 as the second most used fuel. The Peninsula
