Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Abdullah Al Thani with other official touring the 8th edition of Qatar International Boat Show at The Pearl Qatar.
With the participation of over 35 companies, the 8th edition of Qatar International Boat Show began yesterday at The Pearl Qatar showcasing yachts, jet skis, water sports equipment to accessories.
Held under the auspices of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, the boat show will continue from 4pm to 9pm until November 20 for traders, marine life lovers and visitors.
Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Abdullah Al Thani, inaugurated the 8th edition of Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS) at La Croisette, Porto Arabia. The minister stressed the importance of the exhibition, QNA reported. He said that it provides an opportunity to find out the latest trends in marine tourism in the state, which enhances Qatar’s status as a leading international tourist destination.
The minister said the exhibition is also an ideal platform to get acquainted with the pioneers of the boat industry in Qatar and the world to strengthen partnerships and conclude important commercial deals, in addition to helping local companies benefit from the expertise of leading foreign companies in this industry.
Those present on the occasion were UDC Chairman, Turki bin Mohammed Al Khater; UDC President, CEO and member of the board, Ibrahim Jassim Al Othman; Chairman, Al Mannai Plus Events, Khalid Eissa Al Mannai; Chairman of Qatar International Boat Show, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, dignitaries, ambassadors and guests.
There are around 35 various companies participating and over 50 yachts on display, jet skis, water sports equipment to accessories. Chairman, Al Mannai Plus Events, the sole organisor of QIBS in Qatar, Khalid Eissa Al Mannai, said that a number of marine and non-marine equipment/products will be launched during the exhibition which include made in Qatar 35 new model boats including a 25 feet yacht and two speed boats; US made Aquakart by Speed Moto; and two China made electric compact and compact USV by Chery.
He said in addition, British made COX Diesel Outboard Engine V8 - 300HP was being launched for the first ever time in GCC and Middle East by Gulf Ychat from QIBS platform. Al Mannai added that 2021 QIBS also has first time a section of pre-owned yachts for sale.
Speaking to The Peninsula, Chairman of Qatar International Boat Show, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Thani said: “We made special focus on Qatari exhibitors to showcase their products as they are very important for us as their success is our success.”
He said that for first time this year, the exhibition will introduce marine engine by an international company and some companies working on electric power are also participating in the show.
