207 Covid-19 recoveries in Qatar on Nov 17 as 40 travellers test positive

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 194 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 207 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 133,217.

Out of the 194 new cases, 154 are community cases and 40 from travellers returning from abroad.

So far, 235 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 136,222 and there are 2,770 active cases under treatment.

4577 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (11009 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,058,418 tests.

There are 45 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 283.

Six patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 40.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate

- Wearing a face mask

- Washing hands regularly
