Milipol Qatar 2021 exhibition which is set to conclude today saw a distinguished participation from Qatari entities and private companies with presence of over 70 local exhibitors.
The Ministry of Interior is participating in the exhibition with a large pavilion comprising several departments, where each of them are offering models of modern equipment acquired by some departments while others offering models of services provided to the public and employed in awareness efforts.
The Information Systems Directorate of the Ministry of Interior is exhibiting, through its pavilion, five major projects, including maritime registration service, project of security bag, security clearance project, traffic systems project on tablet devices, and project of coastal and border security services on tablet devices.
Among the distinguished pavilions in the exhibition is also Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) pavilion, which includes the latest devices and technologies that it uses, including Smart Security Investigator device.
Speaking to The Peninsula on the sidelines of the event about Lekhwiya's participation in the exhibition, Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Eng. Ali Al Rashed, Commander of Security Technologies in Lekhwiya, said that the technical solution provided by the invention is to detect the suspicious people and narcotics takers.
Lieutenant Colonel Al Rashed added: “If a person stands in front of the device for scanning his eyes and temperature, the device notifies if the person is criminal, drugs taker or carries infectious disease.”
He also stated that the device is 100 percent Qatari-owned and manufactured, and being used at Hamad International Airport and has succeeded in detecting a number of cases.
“The pavilion also includes many devices developed by Lekhwiya in cooperation with strategic partners, such as a moving detection vehicle that determines load on vehicles. It is also equipped with an automatic analysis system to determine the type of prohibited substance loaded on the vehicle,” he said.
For his part, CEO and Founder of Ideal Solutions, Mahmoud Amer, affirmed that the State of Qatar has become at the forefront of countries that have been able to develop and adopt information and communication technology in all vital areas.
CEO and Founder of Ideal Solutions, Mahmoud Amer added that Milipol Qatar came at an appropriate time in light of the preparations for the World Cup, as Qatar has become an attractive environment for developers in the information sector, especially with the great growth in light of the numerous government strategies for solutions projects based on smart and modern information technology.
“Ideal Solutions will soon announce an agreement with a government agency worth more than QR6m to purchase services related to technical support for some technological systems,” he said adding that the company is proud to implement many vital projects and serves government institutions that include important ministries, including the Ministry of Interior, Hamad Medical Corporation, Ministry of Municipality and Environment, Ministry of Justice, Qatar University among others.
Amer noted that most of the global economies are now dependent on investment in the information technology sector, further pointing out that Qatar has launched many distinguished initiatives in this regard. Among other distinguished Qatari pavilions at Milipol Qatar 2021 exhibition is Stark Motors company pavilion. Stark Motors’ pavilion representative said that the company manufactures security vehicles and private vehicles that serve multi purposes.
In a statement on the sidelines of the company’s participation in the exhibition, he noted that the company also manufactures special vehicles for ambulances. “The company works in a systematic manner, as it has a special team of engineers and designers who design these vehicles. During the past two years, the company has manufactured many Made-in-Qatar vehicles,” he said.
