DOHA: The Ministry of Interior is participating in Darb Al Saai National Day celebrations through various pavilions providing recreational and awareness activities to the public.
The Ministry participated by distinguished programs and events to provide benefit to the visitors through its various departments that provide the public with a wide aspect of learning tasks and duties.
Among the Ministry Departments which are attracting many visitors include Police College, General Directorate of Traffic, General Directorate of Civil Defence, General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security, General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Drug Enforcement Department.
At the Drug Enforcement Department pavilion, Lieutenant Abdullah Qassim, said: "The Drug Enforcement Department has ensured that its participation this year in the activities of Darb al Saai is distinctive participation as a set of interactive displays provided here. The department's pavilion has offered a lot of historical, cultural, sports and tourism information about Qatar."
Among other important pavilions include the pavilion of the General Directorate of Traffic named ‘Traffic Village’ which has attracted a large number of children and provide them tips about the safe driving and simulation driving experience.
It also provides awareness lectures about winter camping and the danger of accidents at Sealine areas.
On the pavilion of the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security, Lieutenant Saud Faisal Al Rees said that the pavilion focuses primarily on awareness programs for the visitor especially young people who are practising hobby of water scooters in order to make them aware of safety requirements and avoid entering the prohibited places such as the Corniche or in front of hotels.
Also, there are many other activities at Darb Al Saai which attract visitors such as Al Shaqab activity which offers pony rides, traditional show, children’s activities, games and various shows and demonstrations.
There are also activities like Al Rail where families and children receive rail ride experience, in addition to flag raising activity. There are also many activities regarding educational sector which include Ardat hal Qatar that aims to raise the skills of children in performing Ardat dance and Sanad Qanuni, another activity which aims to raise legal awareness among students. The National Day activities at Darb Al Saai will continue until December 20.
