Mohammed Rafi
A concert will be held in Qatar on Friday in memory of late playback singer Mohammed Rafi who in his career dating back to 1944 to his death in 1980 stayed one of the influential players in the Bollywood music.
Organisers 'Doha Waves' said the annual event, ‘Rafi Ki Yadein’, is in its 20th year. The event will start at 7 pm at DPS school auditorium and the admission will be “free to all music lovers”
A small introductory programme will introduce the legendary singer to the new generation.
Apart from the live concert, songs requested by audience will be performed in ‘unplug’ category.
An array of singers, Mohammed Thwayyib, Sumi Aravind, Salim Pavaratti, Malini Gopan, Mythili Shenoy and Sivapriya Suresh will perform under the orchestration of keyboadist Anwar Kannur.
