UPDATE: Heavy rain was reported from Mukaynis, central part of Qatar. In a video posted by the Qatar Meteorology Department rainwater was seen gushing down a small path.
Scattered thunderstorms monitored in central areas west of Doha, tweeted Qatar Meteorology Department according to latest radar images.
“Continuation of monitoring sporadic thunderstorms in the center of the country, accompanied by strong winds that cause dust and low visibility sometimes, where we monitor the low visibility to less than 1 km currently in Shahaniya,” the weather department said.
The department also shared videos of light rain in various parts of the country on its social media account.

The weather department has been warning of frequent cloud development and thunderstorms in the country over the last few days.
It also issued safety tips in case of wind, hail, dust and poor visibility or lightining hazard during thunderstorms.
1. Stay indoors during thunderstorm
2. Avoid standing on roofs or near high trees and electricity poles.
3. Make sure to close windows if you are inside a car
4. Stay away from open water.
