Talented rider Maryam Ahmad Al Boinin sparkled at the Qatar Equestrian Federation (QEF) Indoor Arena, sweeping both the dressage titles as the second round of Qatar Equestrian Tour - Longines Hathab got underway yesterday.
Riding Silvan first, Maryam collected 63.820 points after a fascinating performance to win Dressage Medium (Level 1) title and take the winner’s purse of QR4950.
Saoud Ahmed Al Boinin, who rode Leslie Ann 2, was second after earning 62.708 points while Jassim Mohammed Al Fahd Al Kuwari completed the podium after securing 62.361 points with 17-year-old Circus.
After grabbing the victory, Maryam rode 13-year-old Vol De Nuit Tardonne to top Dressage Prelim (Level 2) event after a card of 67.632 points.
She was again followed by Saoud, who got 66.974 points with Larko Denfer. Jassim, astride Peter was third after getting 66.711 points as podium winners remained unchanged.
Today’s schedule includes Small and Medium tours, with riders looking to excel in the second round.
Mohammed Rashid Al Amri is on top of the table with 30 points after clinching first place in the opening round followed by Saeed Hamad Jumma (27) and Haya Khalid Al Hitmi (25).
A stiff battle is expected in the Medium Tour with Saeed Nasser Al Qadi, Mohammed Saeed Haidan and Khalid Sanad Al Nuami occupying first three positions respectively after the first round.
Tomorrow, Mohammed Khalifa Albaker will be hoping to clinch his second consecutive Big Tour win but he is expected to get a tough competition as Cyrine Cherif and Sheikh Khalifa Al Thani also showed impressive performances in the season-opening round.
Hussain Saeed Haidan, who rode Viahipi D’auzay to secure Open Class title, will also look to continue his winning momentum, tomorrow.
After topping the first round, Al Fardan are leading the points table in Medium Tour Team Event with 30 points, followed by Ajwad (27) and Exxonmobil (25) on second and third positions respectively.
The Longines Hathab season comprises 14 rounds, which will be held at QEF Indoor Arena and the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab until April 2023.
