Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation, Katara opened yesterday at the Drama Theatre the Nubian Heritage Festival, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Sudan and the Association of Sons of Al Mahas in Qatar.
The opening was attended by Katara General Manager, Prof Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti; Ambassador of Sudan to Qatar, H E Ahmed Abdel Rahman Mohamed Hassan Siwar Al Dahab; Ambassador of Costa Rica to Qatar, H E Mariano Segura; and a number of members of the Sudanese community.
Dr. Al Sulaiti said: “This festival is an opportunity to learn about the Nubian heritage and all its history. At Katara, we shed light on different civilisations and cultures to bring people together and build bridges of communication between them.”
Ambassador of Sudan thanked Katara for its support for the event, and praised Katara’s efforts in supporting culture.
