Doha: Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Handball team will train for nine days at their summer training venue, for the second year in a row, it was announced here yesterday.
The Parisians will be here from July 28 to August 5, the club said.
The Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) will welcome the club to Aspire Zone for training and discovery in Qatar.
Following in the footsteps of Paris Saint-Germain football team, which visited Qatar in December 2013, now it’s the Parisian handballers’ turn to enjoy training and benefit from the incredible sports facilities available at the Aspire Zone.
On the menu for this Qatar Handball Tour are: training sessions, muscular conditioning, tours of the facilities which will host the Qatar 2015 World Handball Championships as well as activities with local young handballers.  Between training sessions, the players will be free to go sightseeing and explore the attractions in Qatar, such as the Mathaf Modern Art Museum, traditional art and local cuisine workshops, or simply stroll around the Souq Waqif.
In January 2015, Qatar will host the biggest event of the International Handball Federation: the Men’s World Championship, which occurs every two years.
Already a partner with one of Europe’s best clubs, PSG Handball, Qatar will welcome the 24th edition of the Handball Worlds – an event expected to attract fans from around the globe along with the sport’s top talents.  The matches will take place at the newly built 17,000-seat Lusail Sports Hall, a venue where the 2013 World champions Spain will try to retain their title.
