Book paying tribute to 48 successful women launched

Doha: A book, which pays tribute to 48 women, entitled “The Journey of Affluential Women in the Modern Era” written by Hamad Hassan Al Tamimi was launched yesterday,

The book details the journey and struggles of 48 women and how they have achieved the success they have now. 

“I started writing this book in February 2020 and it took me two years to finish it. The book will serve as an inspiration to the public on how these women reach the top of their careers,” said author Al Tamimi to The Peninsula. The book launch was attended by several personalities and government officials held at W Doha. 

When asked which story struck him the most while writing the book, he said: “There are a lot of stories, it brings so many emotions for me.” The book takes readers on a journey and details how the personalities faced difficulties and challenges while achieving their dreams and ambitions. 

The book which is written in Arabic will also be translated in English, and will be released in February of next year. 

Currently the book can be purchased through online delivery app, Rafeeq. “This is the first time in Qatar that you can purchase a book by using a delivery app. It will be delivered straight to your home. And after three to four months, it will be available in bookstores,” the author explained.

Moreover, Al Tamimi revealed that he is now working on the second edition of the book. “In this edition, I will highlight the men. I signed a contract with Kon Group, who will help me choose among the diplomats, military and media men for the second edition. Like the first edition, the people who will be chosen will not only be limited to Qataris.”

Among the women featured in the “The Journey of Affluential Women in the Modern Era” is Malika Alshraim, New Media Department Manager of Cultural Village Foundation, Katara. She told The Peninsula that she is overwhelmed being part of the book. 

“I’m so glad and proud at the same time to be one of the 48 women in this first edition, especially it’s one of a kind in Qatar to have such a book highlighting the success of 48 ladies.”

Jordanian lawyer, Ola Al Fares; Doha Film Institute CEO, Fatma Al Remaihi; Ooredoo Group’s Chief Human Resources Officer, Fatima Al Kuwari; Fashion Designer, Mariam Al Mulla; Contemporary artist and curator, Muna Al Bader are among the 48 women featured on the said book. Hamad Hassan Al Tamimi is a Qatari journalist, certified trainer, life coach practitioner and also the Director of Youth Programmes at the Qatari Forum for Authors, a cultural body affiliated to the Ministry of Culture. He has also written several novels including “Maryam,” and “Segan Al Zekrait.”
