Doha: Indian Cultural Center (ICC) under the aegis of Embassy of India hosted a Cultural Show depicting different festivals at different regions of India. The event was coordinated by ICC managing committee members Vishal Mehta, A P Manikantan, Girish Jain, Sriraja Vijayan, K S Prasad, Jaffar Khan, Nayna Wagh and Anjan Ganguly.
The event was performed at Qatar National Convention Center by more than 350 participants from Indian expatriate community in the presence of more than 2500 audience and dignitaries. The performers presented the rich cultural heritage of the country.
The cultural show was anchored by Anu Sharma and Anshu Jain and was performed by Indian schools and members of different ICC affiliated organizations. The programme included some of the distinct art forms of India such as Maharashtra folk dance, Bengali festival, Patriotic performances, Diwali and Dandya celebrations, Lambadi dance, Pongal celebrations, Manglori Dance, Goa Carnival, Baisakhi celebrations, Christmas, Holi and Eid celebrations etc. The audience were enthralled by such wonderful performances.
The event started with a public function conducted by ICC General Secretary Juttas Paul and ICC president Milan Arun welcomed the audience and guests. The ambassador of India to Qatar P Kumaran was the chief guest of the evening, Pashupathy Anand from Teyseer Motors and Krishnan from Doha Bank were the guest of honors. The occasion was also graced by the Ambassadors of Srilanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Also present were Coordinating Officer of ICC and counselor at Indian Embassy Rajesh Kamble and ICC Advisory Council chairman Hassan Chougle.
