Indian comedy actor Innocent Vareed Thekkethala from the Southern state of Kerala was rushed to a private hospital in Kochi yesterday.
The 75-year-old, who celebrated his birthday recently, is a veteran artist in Kerala and has acted in over 750 movies. A cancer survivor, he was rushed to the hospital after he complained of uneasiness, stated Indian media reports, quoting the doctors that the actor was responding to treatment. Certain section of the media reported that the actor has been hospitalised due to a relapse of cancer.
Innocent is known for his unique style of comedy and is a favourite among mimicry artists. Recipient of many award, including three Kerala State Film Awards and seven Asianet Film Awards, Innocent began his acting career in 1972.
