Doha: Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani inaugurated yesterday the 13th edition of international exhibition for homeland security and civil defense (Milipol Qatar 2021) at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
More than 140 local and international exhibitors are participating in the three-day exhibition. A number of Their Excellencies the Ministers, senior officials and guests from various countries and representatives of exhibiting companies attended the opening ceremony.
The Prime Minister was briefed on the exhibition pavilions especially those related to the security of stadiums and sports events, in addition to an explanation about the latest equipment in the field of security and civil defence.
The event is being organised by the Ministry of Interior under the patronage of the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior witnessed the signing of an agreement between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the French Republic to establish a partnership in the areas of security for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, QNA reported.
H E also witnessed the signing of a protocol between the Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy in the State of Qatar and the Public Security Department of the Ministry of Interior of the Italian Republic in the fields of public order and security management of major sport events.
Milipol Qatar 2021 provides an opportunity for the participants to share their experience in the field of security and civil defence. As many as 71 companies from 17 countries, along with 72 exhibitors from Qatar, are participating in the event, which provides the businessmen and investors a comprehensive idea about the future of the internal security and civil defense sectors after the pandemic.
The exhibition succeeded in attracting many international and local companies that were keen to participate despite the current health conditions, as these companies presented the latest and advanced devices related to security and civil defense, including weapons, drones, robotics, fire and protection, information technology among others.
Qatari government entities and companies also have an excellent participation in the event, as the Qatar Ministry of Interior Pavilion, Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Barzan Holdings and the General Authority of Customs (GAC) pavilion were distinguished by displaying the latest security devices that they use, some of which are Qatari industries.
