DOHA: Muhammad Hadi Khorasani (pictured) hammered 144 off 88 balls to set up an 18-run victory for CNAQ against AKH Club in a Qatar Airways Cricket Tournament Division C match.
The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) is organising the Qatar Airways Cricket Tournament at the West Bay Complex in three divisions: A, B and C.
Batting first, CNAQ were boosted by Khorasani’s century, but the other batsmen failed to support him much. His blazing century took his team to 193 all out in 25 overs.
Kalpa got four wickets, Prabha and Mudassir sharing four.
Laxman (43) and Danish (28) gave momentum to the spirited chase but Aman (three wickets) and Narshe grabbed five wickets between them. Khorasani, Noor and Ansaldo picked one scalp each to bowl out the rivals for 175 in 22 overs.
Fahim put together a genuine all-round performance to star in a thrilling four-wicket win for NDSQ against Mecton Club. Kapila’s 70 provided the nucleus for Mecton Club’s 181 for eight in 24 overs.
Faheem led the bowling honours with four scalps. He then contributed 47 vitals runs in his team’s victory with one over to spare. Viju (37) and Krishna Raj (32) also played important supporting roles for Faheem.
In a low-scoring match, Al Jaber Club edged PWC by one wicket. Marwan led the collapse with three wickets. Sikander, Ali Raza and Augustine all claimed two wickets apiece. Zoha was the best scorer with 37 and Mujtaba made 20 as his team made 118 all out in 25 overs.
Rizwan hit 39 and Rauf chipped in with 22 to help Al Jaber pull off the narrow victory despite some fine efforts by PWC’s Mujtaba, who removed four players. Wahab (three) and Wajih accounted for half the rival team.
Ali (68 runs and one wicket) guided Medas Club to an eight-wicket triumph against United XI. Rishad struck 67 that helped QIE beat Punjab XI by 62 runs, and Ezan’s 65 was the highlight of HBK Club’s 45-run victory over Gulf Agency Club in other matches.
