QC explores economic, trade cooperation with Chinese delegation

Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Chamber (QC) hosted a trade delegation from the People’s Republic of China, led by Ma Fengmin, Deputy Director General of the China Foreign Trade Centre. The delegation was received by Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansouri, Acting Director General of the Qatar Chamber.

The meeting was also attended by Hussein Al Abd Al Ghani, Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department at the Chamber, and Wu Yi, Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Qatar.

During the meeting, discussions focused on bilateral cooperation in trade and economic sectors, as well as the role of the private sector in enhancing trade exchange between the two countries.

The Chinese side also introduced the China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair), which will hold its 137th edition from April 15 to May 5, 2025, in Guangzhou, China.

In his remarks, Al Mansori praised the strong and growing Qatar-China relations, highlighting that China is one of Qatar’s most significant trade partners. He noted the continuous development of bilateral relations, particularly in economic and commercial sectors.

Ma Fengmin, for his part, invited Qatari companies to participate in the 137th session of the Canton Fair. He mentioned that the upcoming edition is expected to feature more than 30,000 exhibitors.
