Doha: The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.
Following the meeting, Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Sulaiti issued the following statement:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet listened to the explanation given by Minister of Public Health HE Dr Hanan Mohamed Al Kuwari on the latest developments to limit the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of the precautionary measures that have been taken to combat the pandemic.
Then, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
First - the Cabinet was informed of the Shura Council's approval of the following two draft laws:
A - A draft law promulgating the social insurance law.
B - A draft law on military retirement.
Second - Approval of a draft decision of the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs regarding determining an annual percentage of the endowment's income to be allocated for its construction and reconstruction.
The preparation of this draft decision comes within the framework of implementing the provisions of Law No. 9 of 2021 regarding endowments.
Third - the Cabinet reviewed the report and recommendations of the working group on the central database that includes all the data required for planning at the state level and conducted the necessary study to classify the data and link it to international indicators, and took the appropriate decision.
In this regard, the Cabinet listened to a presentation by President of the Planning and Statistics Authority HE Dr Saleh bin Mohammad Al Nabit, in which he explained the details of the issue.
