QSE’s main index gained 438.35 points last week

Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QSE) benchmark index gained 438.35 points, 5.64 percent, last week when the bourse closed yesterday at 8,211.94 points. Trading value during last week increased by 9.27 percent to reach QR1.22bn compared to QR1.12bn.

Trading volume increased by 3.98 percent to reach 60.84 million shares, as against 58.51 million shares, while the number of transactions fell by 5.78 percent, to reach 20,068 transactions as compared to 21,298 transactions.

Market cap rose by 6.53 percent to reach QR453.41bn as compared to QR425.61bn at the end of previous week.

Banking and financial services sector led traded value this week with 33.99 percent of the total traded value. Industries sector accounted for 17.97 percent real estate sector accounted for 16.09 percent and telecoms sector accounted for 10.69 percent.

Real estate sector led traded volume this week with 25.27 percent of the total traded volume. Banking and financial services sector accounted for 22.11 percent. Industries sector accounted for 19.62 percent and telecoms sector accounted for 17.53 percent.  Banking and financial services sector led traded number of transactions this week with 27 percent of the total number of transactions. Industries sector accounted for 20.88 percent. Real estate sector accounted for 20.24 percent and telecoms sector accounted for 12.25 percent.

From the 45 listed companies 37 ended this week higher, while six fell and two unchanged.

QNB led trading value during this week accounted for 10.7 percent of the total trading value. Masraf Al Rayan accounted for 9.01 percent and Industries Qatar accounted for 6.65 percent, reports QNA.

When compared on daily basis, the QSE index gained 5.07 points 0.06 percent.

The volume of shares traded yesterday decreased to 8,211.94 from 20.43 million on Wednesday and the value of shares increased to QR404.99m from QR331.21m on Wednesday.
