Ministry okays reopening of 44 education centres

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has approved  to reopen 44 education and training centres offering tuition, computer and other training courses for 2020-21 academic year under gradual lifting of COVID-19 restrictions on education facilities.

The approved list of education and training centres, posted on the website of the Ministry, includes 19 tuition centres, 12 centres for education and training for people with disability, six centres for administrative training, four centres for computer training, two centres for teaching languages and one centre for educational training.

The 19 tuition centres are operating in Al Mashaf, Gharrafat Al Rayan, Al Gharrafa, Al Kharaitiyat, Umm Lakhba, Al Laqta, Madinat Khalifa, Al Salta Al Jadida, Al Mahmoura, Madinat Khalifa Al Janubia, Al Waab, Nuaijah, Al Rayan Al Jadeed, Ain Khalid, Al Khisa and Muaither.

The twelve centres offering education and training for people with disability are located at Al Duhail, Al Mamoura, Madinat  Khalifa Al Jabubia, Al Markhiya, Al Dafna, Umm Lakhba,  Al Kharaitiyat, Al Thumama, Al Waab and Al Aziziya.

Six centres for administrative training are operating in Al Wakra, Al Mirqab Al Jadeed, Bin Omran, Al Laqta and Nuaijah.

Four computer centres are located at Al Matar Al Qadim, Al Waab, Al Mahmoura and Mushaireb. Two language centres are offering their services in Al Aziziya and Al Wakra. An educational training centre is operating in Abu Hamour.

Private Education Centres are those that offer a wide array of educational training to support students with their academic learning, said the Ministry on its website. There is many private education centres across Qatar. They mainly offer management training, foreign languages, remedial classes, ICT, programmes for people with special needs, visual arts, and mental games classes.

The Ministry sets strict standards for those centres to be followed to ensure the delivery of high-quality education services.

As per the ministerial laws and decisions regulating the process of granting educational and training centre licences, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) sets strict standards and requirements to ensure the quality of education services.

The MOEHE’s Education Centres Department is responsible for the oversight of the educational and training centres operating in the country. It provides effective support and guidance to private education sector investors at all business stages to help them operate smoothly. 

Also, it explains all business requirements to the investors, offers consultation and facilitate correspondence with the concerned authorities. The department spares no effort to help the investors offer high-quality education services to the Qatari community.
