Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 200 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 218 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 125,802.
Out of the 200 new cases, 182 are community cases and 18 from travelers returning from abroad.
The Ministry also announced two deaths - aged 46 and 83 who were receiving the necessary medical care.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 128,803 and there are 2,779 active cases under treatment. So far, 222 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
Ministry conducted 5,416 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 855,154 tests. There 36 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 401.
Two patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 55.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing.
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.
- Wearing a face mask.
- Washing hands regularly
