One death and 239 Covid-19 cases in Qatar on Sept 15

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 239 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 213 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 119,144.

Out of the 239 new cases, 231 are community cases and 8 from travellers returning from abroad.

The Ministry also announced one death - aged 82 - who was receiving the necessary medical care.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 122,214  and there are 2862 active cases under treatment. So far, 208 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

Ministry conducted 4987 tests in the last 24 hours taking the total tests done so far to 700,414 tests. There are 52 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital to 424.

Six patients were admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 55.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing.

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate.

- Wearing a face mask.

- Washing hands regularly.
