Doha, Qatar: The wait is finally over as Euro 2024 kicks off today with hosts Germany taking on Scotland at the Allianz Arena Stadium in Munich.
All eyes will be on the German team as they look to put their recent disappointing performances behind them and start the tournament on a positive note in front of their home fans.
The atmosphere in Munich is electric, with an estimated 150,000 Scottish fans having made the journey to support their team.
The Tartan Army will be hoping to witness a historic upset against the three-time European champions.
Germany head coach Julian Nagelsmann and captain İlkay Gündoğan have both emphasized the importance of starting the tournament strongly, with Gündoğan highlighting the need to capitalize on the momentum and euphoria that a win in the opening game can bring.
Meanwhile, Scotland manager Steve Clarke has urged his players to respect their opponents but fear no one, as they aim to qualify for the knockout stages of a major tournament for the first time in their history.
