Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced the suspension of all events, festivals and exhibitions.
In a statement on Twitter, the General Manager of Katara, Professor Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti said: "We apologize to our valued Katara visitors for canceling all events, festivals and exhibitions to mourn the death of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of United Arab Emirates."
In an announcement by the Amiri Diwan, the Amir had declared three days of mourning in the state and the flags to be lowered to half-staff.
