The Secretary-General of the Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation (QTSBF), Tariq Darwish Zainal retained the position of Vice President of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) for West Asia by acclamation for the next two years.
This was confirmed during the meeting of the members of the Board of Directors of the Federation, which was held via videoconferencing.
In a press statement, Zainal said that his re-election represents a new success for sport in Qatar and reflects the great confidence that the country enjoys from all regional, continental, and international sports governing bodies.
He also expressed his hope to continue working with officials in Asian Confederation to develop the game across the continent.
Zainal pointed out that Qatar Tennis Federation seeks to advance the game in Asia by organizing several continental tournaments and providing all possible facilities for Asian players to participate in them.
Zainal had retained the membership of the ATF Board of Directors for the next two years, after obtaining the vote of all members of the General Assembly during the elections held in November.
