Qatar extended their winning run at the 9th Asian Beach Handball Championships in Bali, Indonesia with a comfortable 2-0 (26-17, 24-17) win over their Group A counterparts Saudi Arabia, yesterday.
Last year’s runners-up Qatar, who had earlier beaten Philippines 2-0 (17-14, 28-14) and South Korea 2-0 (23-17, 25-9), now lead Group A with six points.
The reigning champions Iran are second with two wins and four points, followed by the Philippines in the third spot.
The tournament serves as a qualification tournament for the 2024 IHF Men’s Beach Handball World Championships.
