Doha: Under the patronage of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the country is gearing up to host Qatar’s 7th International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) and Qatar’s First International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ), simultaneously from March 19 to 22, 2019 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).

“A total of 51 countries will participate the exhibition this year,” said Mohammed Ali Al Khouri, Head of Organising Committee of the Exhibition while addressing a press conference yesterday. He said that last year 37 countries participated the exhibition. “The exhibition, a four-day event is very important for local market and Qatari farmers where famous international companies will showcase their agricultural products and latest farming technologies,” said Al Khouri.

The press conference was attended by Yusuf Khalid Al Khulaifi, Deputy Head of the Organising Committee and Salem Husain Al Safran, Deputy Director of Natural Reserve Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment. AgriteQ is fast gaining wide international attention to capitalize on local agricultural projects and other investment opportunities in Qatar, with the unlimited support of the government, which allocated an annual fund of QR70m to boost the country’s agricultural, livestock, and fish productions and promote the marketing of national agricultural products. One of the highlights scheduled for this year’s event is Qatar’s First International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ), a pioneering event serving as an interactive platform to discuss innovative environmental solutions for the current and future challenges and exchange experiences between local and international leaders.

Minister of Municipality and Environment H E Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie said in a statement that this year’s AgriteQ falls in line with Qatar’s growing interest in the agricultural sector over the recent years, with the aim to increase domestic agricultural production, enhance rates of self-sufficiency and achieve food security.

The Qatar’s 7th International Agricultural Exhibition will feature dedicated exhibition zones, including Veterinary Products Area (VeteQ), a dedicated platform that specializes in veterinary health, offering a wide range of services, equipment and veterinary products for livestock, poultry and other species; and Food Industry Area (FoodteQ), which highlights the latest agricultural products and packaging machines. It will also be featuring a series of interactive activities such as theB2B Matching Platform, which will provide agricultural experts with an ideal gateway to share experiences and learn the latest practices and research on the most pressing issues and major challenges.
