Qatar Meteorology has predicted rains and heavy wind throughout the week. It's cloudy and raining, and you are stuck indoors. We give you seven things to do to spice up such a dreary day.
1. Rain is an excellent excuse to call your friends and family over a cup of tea or karak or Sahlab with some spicy hot comfort food - momos, pakoda, Sambousek or samosa. Or getting anything fried – a cheat day for your diet.
2. It is an ideal time to curl up in your favourite beanbag or corner of your sofa and watch an old classic on TV or read a book. And yes, you can take along the tea and chips
3. Try out a game of indoor treasure hunt with your family. Make few sets of clues leading to a small toy hidden in a corner of your house. And this is sure shot way to spend quality family time.
4. There is nothing like a warm and long bubble bath on a cold rainy day. Make your own bubble bath by mixing your favourite scented oil, liquid body soap, honey and egg white or better still use a store bought bath crystals, saves you time for extra soaking.
5. Create a picnic indoors for your family. To create the ambience, set up a dome tent or tie up sheets on chairs or wardrobe doors. Indoors camps can be fun especially if you have young kids.
6. Exercise your brain and have a go at indoor games such as scrabbles, chess, carom, sudoku, ludo or snakes and ladder.
7. And finally, our favourite thing to do on a rainy day. Head straight to Corniche with your family or friends or whoever you can get or just alone and get wet in the rains that comes rarely to Qatar. You can have that hot tea or soup afterwards, which will be more rewarding. But don’t blame us if you catch a cold, we are working on more tips on how to fight a cold.
Enjoy the rains
