Doha, Qatar: Qatar issued a strongly-worded condemnation of the statements made by Minister of Finance in the Israeli occupation government, that included instructions to prepare the infrastructure required to annex the occupied West Bank.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it considers such statements a blatant violation of international law, Security Council Resolution No. 2334, and a dangerous escalation that would hinder the chances of peace in particular.

With the continuation of the brutal war on the Gaza Strip, and its horrific repercussions, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses the need for the international community to stand strong in the face of the settlement and colonial occupation policies and its repeated attacks on the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, especially its ongoing crimes in the West Bank. It further confirmed the necessity of international solidarity, more than ever before, to achieve a two-state solution that paves the way for a just and sustainable peace in the region.

The statement further stated that the repeated Israeli statements in violation of international laws and resolutions clearly reveal that the occupation is the obstacle to any efforts for peace and stability.

It also reiterated the firm and permanent position of the State of Qatar in supporting the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people based on international legitimacy resolutions and the two-state solution, ensuring the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
