Philippine Embassy cautions about “travel exemption fee scam”

Doha: On its official Facebook page, the Philippine Embassy in Qatar shared a public advisory announced by The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) regarding a travel exemption fee scam related to entry of foreign nationals into the Philippines.

In a statement, DFA stated that it "does not collect a 'Travel Exemption Fee' or any kind of fee whatsoever for the purpose of allowing foreign nationals to enter the country."

DFA also reiterated that the entry restrictions are still currently in place.

"Foreign nationals should be guided by the latest advisory of the Bureau of Immigration as to who are allowed to enter the Philippines during the State of Public Health Emergency," DFA added.
