Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 245 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 227 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 132,153.
Out of the 245 new cases, 192 are community cases and 53 from travellers returning from abroad.
The Ministry also announced one death - aged 70 - who was receiving the necessary medical care.
So far, 234 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.
All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.
5300 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (10,376 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,035,940 tests.
The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 135,132 and there are 2,745 active cases under treatment.
There are 34 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total patients in the hospital 299.
No patient was admitted to intensive care due to health complications resulting from infection with the virus, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical care in intensive care currently to 36.
While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:
- Adherence to physical distancing
- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate
- Wearing a face mask
- Washing hands regularly
