Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education has released schedules and regulations for semester 1 mid-term examination for students (day education) of grade 1 to 11 which will begin on October 18, 2020.
The Ministry said on its Twitter account that all public and private schools must adhere to all precautionary measures and relevant instructions issued by the Ministry. To ensure social distancing during examination, the number of students must not be more than 15 per classroom and 60 students per multipurpose hall.
The Ministry has identified a set of precautionary measures to be followed for ensuring the safety of students during the exam period. Relevant decisions have also been taken regarding the assessment of exams.
Special examination halls must be made for students with chronic diseases, students with special needs and isolation rooms for suspected COVID-19 cases. As per the measures, proper social distancing between the students must be observed during the examinations.
Marks for grades 1, 2 and 3 will be awarded on the basis of (5 marks) for continuous assessment tools and (15 marks) for the exams. This will be based on the specifications table and assessment tools released by the relevant departments of the Educational Affairs Sector.
The mid-term exams of the visual arts’ subject in all grades will be postponed to the end of semester 1. Additionally, no exams will be held for the subjects of physical education and life and research skills in all grades. Both subjects will not be considered in the students’ total score.
For grades 4 through 11, exams of the subjects that feature oral, practice and listening assessments will be conducted in the written format only, and the full (15) marks will be awarded accordingly.
Students will attend physically to their schools as per the exam schedules released for students of grades 1 to 11. Detailed schedules of exams including those for model schools and all three tracks of class 11 are available on the website of the Ministry.
